In Y-Ball Check Valve design, pressure forces the ball into the branch of the valve, which allows flow. When the liquid stops and pressure equalizes, the ball drops back into the seat and prevents backflow. If reverse flow occurs, pressure causes the ball to seal firmly against the seat, which will prevent leakage.
